I Dreamt So Much of You

(for Nadja)

I dreamt so much of you
my hands grew molten,
my mouth a wild cave
with murmurs overrun.

Your loving tongue lulled me
undone. Your eyelashes
stroking my cheek
like a lacquered brush.

Here are your fingers
entwined with my own,
persuasions of words
half-known, electric desires.

Starfish Soup

(for Nadja)

She broke in and
on the table under a sheen

was a bowl of starfish soup
waiting to be eaten.

One finger she dipped in,
one finger in the warm tureen.

Come little stars
she heard her lips say,

come all silkily come
onto my finger and dance.

And You Are Still Asleep

(for Nadja)

Lipstick and flowers,
the smell of unwashed morning
and I pull on my blouse
buttoning up my breasts.
My wayward hair
I brush to a seemly layer
curled around each ear.

Your bra, your pants
lie just on the floor
where you dropped them there
last night. I bend I kiss you
on your cheeks your arms
on your back your cheeks
and you are still asleep.

Advice No. 3 - OMG Look at my hands and feet - they're huge!!

Are you running around SL with huge hands and feet? Now you're panicking because you don't know the reason why?

Probably you have picked up a demo shape and skin from a shop and chosen "Wear" from your inventory. Because the maker of the shape doesn't want you to wear the shape without paying, they have made the feet and hands too big...

If this has happens to you, the solution is easy: go to your inventory and type "shape" in the search window. Then you will see a list of other shapes to try on, most of which will be far more acceptable than your current "troll" outfit.

Well, the solution is easy, of course, if you know what an inventory is. If you don't know what an inventory is, go back to Square 1.

Advice No. 2 - Be Professional

If you want to succeed in SL business, show people what you can do - whether it be building things, using photoshop as a photographer or making clothes.

An easy way to do this is to post pictures of your previous work to a flickr account. Then you can easily show new customers your portfolio by posting the url in a chat window.

Here, for example, is the flickr portfolio of profile portraits created with photoshop by Gytha Resident.

Advice No. 1 - Get a Good Name

When you join Second Life, spend some time to think of a good name. Don't put numbers in your name because you will probably soon want to get rid of them. Try to find a name that people will remember and that can be easily shortened to make it easier for friends to type.
