Well, I haven't mentioned this before, but I am setting up my own business in SL. It is called Floss Homes. I will be selling low prim houses with a Norwegian theme. I also have my own Floss Homes group in SL so join up if you would like information updates and promotional offers.
My first house was a red cabin and was kind of an experiment, though it turned out ok. I was using SL textures I had found for decorating that one.
My second house (picture above) is much more based on traditional Norwegian house style and uses textures that I have collected in RL and adapted for building purposes using the free GIMP graphics sofware (which is great by the way once you get used to how it works).
I had to learn a little bit about scripts to get things going and I had invaluable advice from my builder friends Gwenni Fraisse and Zelator Baphomet which helped me to focus on improvements.
This second house took me about 2 months to make, so it is really a lot of work and much more than I anticipated. However, it was fun and I'm going to carry on adding to the range.
